UGHGHGHG I TRIED REALLY HARD WITH THIS ONE ;_; I've been doing an few hours each day for a while now.. It looks too plain.. And I'm just not going to say anymore. Because I am a cheerful Deviant. *strained smile*

ANYWAY
It's for the RIFT Create a Colossus contest. She's under the Life category. Just imagine, walking through the forest when THIS 10-STOREY HIGH MONSTER BURSTS OUT OF THE VINES IN FRONT OF YOU AND HITS YOU WITH HER BRANCHY-VINE ARMS :O Pretty freaky, hm?

A little about her- her eye sockets are empty. She sees with the eyes on her hands, and her vision is tinted green.
The vines growing along her arms glow, and they can grow poisonous-gas spewing flowers..
She only eats meat.

Please point out flaws that I can easily correct.. XD

Here are the flaws:
1. She looks like 2 feet tall... Or about 0,5 meters if New Zealand uses the metric system.
2. Big bosses should have an appearance that gives off an impact on the viewer. The eyes are a very good tool for this. Make them creepy as shit and sinister as hell, easily put.
3. She shading's a little dull, as you mentioned yourself. Spice it up a little with more contrast. In general, the whole picture could do with some more contrast, yeah... ^^;

Now the good parts:
1. Awesome concept to have the eyes on the branches, and having her "real eyes", or at least their position, covered by the hair =D
2. The flowers give off a sense of psycopathic feeling to the creature: a flower-loving killing machine. Hard to describe...
3. She looks like she popped out of the ground! That's a good thing, cause things that pop out of the ground can startle people obnoxiously much, in lack of a better term.
4. May not be considered a "good" point to some (not even by me, though...), but if she makes it to the game she might be hit by Rule 34 easier than you might thing =D

Hahahaha, how do I make her look bigger?! I could add a little person, there was one in the sketch..
Hmm, guess I could work on the eyes.. I did them first, so they look kind of bad. >_<
Contrast is hard.. I'll fiddle with the saturation and see if I can improve it..

:D
Yup!
She does, she can erupt from anywhere :D
Haha, I didn't even think about that.. At least her lower half is stuck in the ground, I guess.. XDDDD

And thanks for that really long comment :O

Size is a tad hard to emphasize, yeah... But trees and miscellaneous vegetation might work better, I think. =D Atm it looks as if she's in a cave, if you ask me :hmm:

Fiddle with the saturation and contrast settings, especially the contrast. The dark parts, especially the shading, might need a bit of darkening.

I hope that these negative parts aren't too overwhelming... ^^;

Witht he lower half stuck to the ground, Rule 34's power might be even more viscous... Just guess what people might do when they realize they can pretend her lower half is plainly buried, and not just non-existent and being a part of the ground... Beware... :XD:

Trees are hard to draw.. oTL Haha, I see what you mean..

Damnit, my shading is never dark enough!

Haha, it's not like you're saying 'this sucks, her anatomy's way off' or anything.

LIKE DUGTRIO D:

Well, how about bushes? =D

Put it in a separate layer and use effin' contrast, gurl! >.< It's like magic! :meow:

I guess so :XD: It's just that I don't want a repetition of last time ^^;

CANNOT UNSEE >.< I have a slight feeling that you, as a yaoi-loving girl, doesn't mind seeing it though...
Also, just for future reference, we're talking about this one, one out of possibly many others, right?

Rules about brushes?
"vi) you may use licensed brushes and textures, but you may not use third-party stock in your entry" that's all I found regarding brushes... Well, this line I also found 2 paragraphs below the former one: "Entrant may use licensed brushes and textures in the Work."
So what's keeping you?

It's hilarious, yes, but not something you'd like to be caught looking at when your parents enter your room... :icondxplz:

Yes, I just couldn't be bothered typing all that out.. :P I've tried to fix the contrast at least, does it look any better now..?

HAHA
The computer is in the lounge, which sucks. Too many times has my dad walked past while there was something inappropriate on the page. Mostly from Failblog..
