Everything's gone

My PC and external drive have both died taking 10 years of files with them, including all my art. Thousands of my personal photos, Photoshop files, university work that I needed for my final year, my art collection, all my music and everything. I dunno what to do.. The drive is physically damaged and to take it to a specialist would cost $700+ and that's not guaranteeing my data recovered. FML I'm going to bed.

  1. How long have you been on DeviantArt? It's been nearly 7 years!

  2. What does your username mean? Leliel is my favourite angel from Neon Genesis Evangelion but was already taken :c

  3. Describe yourself in three words. i'm always sleepy...

  4. Are you left or right handed? Right

  5. What was your first deviation? It was probably a Naruto or Kingdom Hearts fan drawing but it'll be long deleted HEHEHEHE. Here's a couple of progress shots, though!!

  6. What is your favourite type of art to create? It's always been illustration but right now I'm into sculpture and textured paintings

  7. If you could instantly master a different art style, what would it be? Probably good ole Realism, useful for everything!

  8. What was your first favourite? Gosh, can you even check?! Looks like.. midtermsss

  9. What type of art do you tend to favourite the most? It's a real mix, whatever I'm inspired by or interested in at the time.. Lots of fanart, drawings of girls, anything foodie..

  10. Who is your all-time favourite deviant artist? HNNGH I CAN'T PICK JUST ONE!! There's a few on my page..

  11. If you could meet anyone on DeviantArt in person, who would it be? I wanna meet megatruh !! And isaeway !! Maybe some-day I can visit your hometown.. I'd better become a rich artist quick oTL

  12. How has a fellow deviant impacted your life? The two above have been good friends >3< I haven't had an artistic revelation or anything..

  13. What are your preferred tools to create art? EVERYTHING! Excluding oil paints and chalk pastels!! My most recent work (not yet uploaded..) consists of acrylic paint, silicone, glitter, ribbons and pearl cabochon!!

  14. What is the most inspirational place for you to create art? More like WHEN - when it happens it happens XD

  15. What is your favourite DeviantArt memory? The excitement I had when my GIANT ASS DUCK deviation made the front page. And then when my hand stock became so popular, and I realised I could help the community back!!

As a side note, like many others I've been less active here.. Tumblr is more fun and less formal, I feel like I should only post very finished works here and a lot of my stuff isn't completed so never sees the site!! I also use Facebook and Instagram to post my WIP and sketches. I also think this 'core' update is BS and will not be renewing my membership. I'm a university student who pays enough on art supplies (and coffee) as it is, I don't need a fancy page, and it's been pretty minimal anyways. CIAO!!

My Chromacon experience

Chromacon's an Auckland event for artists to sell their wares and I bought a bunch of nice stuff!! I also.. Well if you've ever read my 'favourite artists' section on my profile, you might notice one 'Benjamin Zhang'. Know what? He was there, we breathed the same air, and he PAINTED ME A PICTURE. YEAH. MY EYES PRICKLE WITH EMOTION. 





When we left the con for a bit to get a drink I noticed a few people walk in and IT WAS BENJAMIN AGAIN HAHAHA

Update AND I'M HAPPY I GOT DRAWN

a certain super popular artist here has used my stock images to draw a tutorial which she is making money from. there is no link back to me or my stock and i would really appreciate if they added that. however.. they receive many comments and i imagine many notes so they are difficult to contact.. i don't wanna be rude to them either!! help??? :o

(this is all i could find on the dA faq FAQ #217: What are "Stock and Resources" and can I use them in my submissions? )

also if you read this you are entitled to enter my kiriban.. send a screen shot of my 66,666 th pageview and receive a drawing from me for freeeee ^^
